Job summary

HSC in Bangalore is seeking an experienced 5G RAN Protocol / E2E Test Engineer with 5–8 years in telecom product testing to join on a full-time, on-site basis. You will lead end-to-end validation of LTE and 5G RAN products, analyze protocol call flows, and perform KPI validation and benchmarking.

Detailed Job Description

As a 5G RAN Protocol / E2E Test Engineer supporting advanced wireless testing in Bangalore via HSC, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of radio access network test planning, protocol debugging, and performance benchmarking. Your day-to-day responsibilities include executing end-to-end validation of LTE/5G RAN products, analyzing protocol call flows, and performing KPI validation, throughput analysis, and benchmarking. You will conduct system-level validation in CU/DU split and O-RAN aligned architectures, write Python automation scripts for log analysis and test execution, and operate specialized testing tools like Qualcomm tools, TM500, and RuSIM. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with RAN developers, system architects, and test leads to ensure rigorous software quality assurance and rapid fault isolation.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive end-to-end testing, validation, and verification of LTE and 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products.
• Perform detailed protocol call flow analysis, message decoding, and debugging across 3GPP air interfaces.
• Conduct KPI validation, throughput analysis, latency profiling, and performance benchmarking on test beds.
• Execute system-level validation in Centralized Unit / Distributed Unit (CU/DU) split and O-RAN aligned architectures.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test automation scripts using Python for log analysis, debugging, and test regression suites.
• Operate specialized wireless test equipment and traffic generators including Qualcomm tools, TM500, and RuSIM.
• Design detailed test plans, test case scenarios, and execution matrices adhering to 3GPP TDD/FDD specifications.
• Collaborate cross-functional with RAN development squads, system engineers, and client stakeholders in Bangalore.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive professional experience in Telecom Product / End-to-End (E2E) testing.
• Strong hands-on professional experience in LTE and/or 5G RAN Protocol testing and validation.
• Good understanding of 3GPP LTE TDD/FDD specifications, conformance standards, and protocol testing methodologies.
• Solid foundation in 5G NR fundamentals, Non-Standalone (NSA), and Standalone (SA) EN-DC architectures.
• Hands-on operational experience with industry-standard test tools such as Qualcomm tools, TM500, and RuSIM.
• Proficient working experience in Linux environments and strong Python scripting skills for automation and log analysis.
• Proven expertise in test planning, test case design, execution, and exposure to O-RAN / CU-DU split architectures.
• Mandatory legal eligibility to work in India with local residency and availability for on-site operations in Bangalore.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications or Embedded Systems.
• Experience with O-RAN interfaces (O-RU, O-DU, O-CU, SMO) and cloud-native deployment models.
