Job summary

Prodapt is seeking a Test Engineer in Chennai to design, execute, and document test cases across functional, regression, and integration testing for OSS/BSS and network platforms. This hands-on role involves validating features, logging defects, and contributing to test automation under the Test Lead.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, ensure testing aligns with timelines, and help improve testing processes while working with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of manual and/or automated software testing experience.
• Experience in telecom OSS/BSS or network-related applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with API testing tools and scripting basics (Java/Python).
• Proficiency in test management/defect-tracking tools (JIRA, Zephyr, ALM).
• Knowledge of SQL for data validation and web app testing basics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to identify test scenarios and prepare/execute tests.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects; collaborate with developers.
• Maintain test data/environments; participate in requirement reviews.
• Execute API testing and DB validation; contribute to automation where applicable.
• Develop/maintain automated test scripts; run regression suites during releases.

Overview

Role Summary

We are looking for a Test Engineer with an interest in the telecom domain to design, execute, and document test cases across functional, regression, and integration testing for OSS/BSS and network platform engagements. This is a hands‑on testing role — you will work under the guidance of the Test Lead to validate features against requirements, log and track defects, and contribute to growing test automation coverage.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify test scenarios.
• Prepare and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Identify, document, track, and retest software defects.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate and resolve defects.
• Maintain test data and testing environments.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide testing inputs.
• Perform API testing and database validation where required.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
• Execute regression test suites for application releases.
• Report test execution status, defects, risks, and testing progress.
• Support UAT and production validation activities.
• Perform root‑cause analysis for recurring defects.
