Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru is seeking a Test Automation Lead to shape the automation strategy for validating embedded devices and industrial controllers. You will design test plans, build automated testing infrastructure, and mentor the team to ensure high-quality software and hardware validation within project schedules.

The role requires hands-on experience with Playwright, Ranorex, and OO languages like C# or C++, along with Agile practices and strong communication across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience.
• Experience with automated testing for user interfaces.
• Experience with embedded and industrial controllers.
• Experience with Playwright and knowledge of Ranorex is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Test Automation Lead is also responsible for mentoring the junior members of the team, help in review , coach for higher performance levels.The work model for the role is: #LI HybridThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Measurement and analytical Division for Bangalore.You will be mainly accountable for:Define and implement the Automation testing infrastructure.Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated tests to validate customer user interfaces with embedded devices.Research, design, build, and implement automated test systems to assist in validation of products.Ensure that technical issues found during test execution are reported to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Utilize various test types and methodologies to drive test planning and execution. Be adaptive to any change involving test processes or tools. Identify methods and solutions for continuously improving test environments and execution.Follow risk-based testing strategies by prioritizing test coverage based on high-risk areas. Coordinate and achieve agreement with test leads, development, product managers, and cross functional teams regarding the risk-based strategy approach for all releases.Qualifications for the role :Bachelors Degree preferred in an engineering or related field.Minimum of 6 years of experience; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.Experience with developing and executing automated tests for user interfaces.Experience with testing embedded and industrial controllers or equivalent systems.Experience with Playwright must , also knowledge in Ranorex would be added advantage.Experience with at least one of the following Object Oriented programming languages – C#, C++.Experience with the Agile development process.Experience with Ranorex Studio a plus.Experience working closely with multi-functional team (production, production test, customer support, supply chain).Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.Familiarity with Flow Computers and Gas Chromatographs a plus.More about Us :The Measurement & Analytics Division is among the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of smart instrumentation and analyzers, working at the heart of industrial digital transformation.
