Job summary

Globallogic in Chennai is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to develop test infrastructure, fixtures and scripts for a robotic system. You will collect and analyze data to verify, validate and measure software quality and performance, working closely with software teams to enhance test coverage.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in software development, strong Python and C++ skills, and hands-on testing experience across diverse methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in software engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Knowledge in C++ programming.
• Good Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns and multithreaded applications.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Batch, Bash and Linux commands.
• Knowledge of white/gray/black box testing methodologies with hands-on experience.
• Understanding of test methodologies (such as performance, load, stress, functional, unit, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills, capable of uncovering anomalies in robust software.

Description

The Test Automation engineer will develop test infrastructure, test fixtures and implement test scripts for a robotic system. They will collect and analyze data to verify, validate and measure software product quality and performance throughout the software development lifecycle. They will also be responsible for writing test procedures, test reports, performing test execution and filing bugs. The candidate must be comfortable working with complex electro-mechanical systems, deploying new software releases and running test scripts on the systems. The candidate will work in close relationship with the software developers to integrate and improve test infrastructure in existing software solutions. We are looking for a candidate who can work independently and function well within a team, is self-motivated, diligent, takes testing and automation as their true passion and wants bring software to an outstanding level of reliability.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS*
Bachelors in software engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
4+ years of progressive experience in software development
Strong programming skills in Python
Knowledge in C++ programming

Software testing for sophisticated electro-mechanical systems (Medical device preferred)
Experience in C++ programming
Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485
Experience with automated GUI testing tools such as Squish
Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
Experience with JIRA or any similar bug tracking tools.
Experience with JAMA or any similar test management tools
