Job summary

L&T Technology Services is seeking a qualified engineer for HIL testing and embedded software validation in Chennai, India. The role focuses on executing HIL tests, debugging hardware and software issues, and maintaining test setups to ensure system-level verification across embedded controls.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of hands-on experience, strong Python scripting, and the ability to work with global teams. On-site five days a week is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Instrumentation/Mechatronics Engineering/CS or related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in HIL testing, embedded software validation, electronic controls, test automation, or system-level verification.
• Hands-on experience with HIL setup, test execution, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong Python scripting and test automation experience.
• Ability to translate requirements into effective test cases.
• Understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
• Strong log-analysis, defect-detection, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of embedded systems, ECUs, electronic interfaces, or control systems.
• Strong communication skills; able to work with global teams and adapt hours.

Job description

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Instrumentation, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

1-2 years of relevant experience in HIL testing, embedded software validation, electronic controls, test automation, or system-level verification.

Hands-on experience with HIL setup, test execution, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Strong Python scripting and test automation experience.

Ability to understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases.

Good understanding of the software development and testing life cycles.

Strong log-analysis, defect-detection, and problem-solving skills.

Good understanding of embedded systems, ECUs, electronic interfaces, or control systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, ownership, and sense of urgency.

Ability to work effectively with global teams and adjust work hours based on reasonable project needs.

Willingness to work on-site five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with dSPACE HIL systems and tools.


• Exposure to MATLAB and Simulink and experience configuring or modifying plant models.


• Experience designing HIL harnesses and setting up complete HIL benches.


• Knowledge of CAN, SAE J1939, diagnostics, machine electronic systems, or embedded controls.


• Experience with telematics, cellular connectivity, GNSS/GPS, remote services, or over-the-air functions.
