Thompsons HR Consulting Pvt Ltd is seeking a Tekla Detailer with 2+ years of experience to develop accurate Tekla 3D models and detailed fabrication and erection drawings for PEB and structural steel projects. You will work under the Tekla Checker / Modeller to ensure timely, quality detailing deliverables.

Responsibilities include modelling, drawing preparation, BOM generation and coordination with engineering teams to meet project schedules and standards.

Job Description Tekla Detailer Department: Detailing Location: Head Office Nandanam, Chennai Reporting To: Tekla Checker / Modeller Experience: 2+ Years Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech Civil / Mechanical / Structural Engineering or equivalent Industry: PEB / Structural Steel Detailing Preferred Job Purpose The Tekla Detailer will be responsible for preparing accurate 3D models and detailed fabrication and erection drawings for PEB and structural steel projects using Tekla Structures. The role involves working under the guidance of the Tekla Checker / Modeller and ensuring that detailing deliverables are completed accurately and within the required project schedule. Key Responsibilities

• Tekla Modelling

Prepare 3D models of PEB and structural steel buildings using Tekla Structures. Model primary and secondary structural members including built-up columns, rafters, beams, tie beams, bracings, purlins, girts, struts and other structural components. Incorporate approved GA drawings, design information and connection details into the Tekla model. Ensure correct member profiles, levels, grids, orientation and identification.

• Fabrication Drawing Preparation

Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings from approved Tekla models. Generate part drawings and assembly drawings for shop-floor fabrication. Ensure dimensions, member marks, profiles, plate details, bolt holes and other fabrication information are clearly shown. Update drawings based on checker comments and approved revisions. Ensure drawings are suitable for practical fabrication.

• Erection Drawing Preparation

Prepare erection drawings as per project requirements. Ensure proper identification of members and clear erection information. Incorporate required grids, levels, dimensions and connection details. Coordinate with the Tekla Checker / Modeller for drawing review and corrections.

• Connection & Detailing Support

Model structural connections as per approved connection details and instructions. Incorporate bolts, plates, cleats, stiffeners and other connection components accurately. Highlight any missing or unclear connection details to the Tekla Checker / Modeller. Ensure proper coordination between connected structural members.

• BOM & Material Information

Generate and review BOMs and material lists from the Tekla model. Ensure member marks, quantities and material information are correctly generated. Assist in checking material quantities and resolving discrepancies. Update the model and drawings when revisions are issued.

• Drawing Review & Corrections

Carry out self-checking of models and drawings before submitting them for review. Incorporate comments received from the Tekla Checker / Modeller. Correct modelling, dimensional and drawing errors promptly. Maintain proper revision control for models and drawings.

• Coordination

Work closely with the Tekla Checker / Modeller on daily detailing requirements. Coordinate with other detailers for model consistency and project progress. Seek clarification whenever drawings, inputs or design information are incomplete. Support coordination with Engineering and other departments through the reporting manager.

• Detailing Standards & Quality

Follow the company's Tekla modelling and detailing standards. Ensure consistency in member naming, numbering and drawing presentation. Minimize detailing errors and rework through proper self-checking. Maintain organised project files and model data.

• Project Deliverables

Complete assigned detailing work within the planned project schedule. Prioritize work based on instructions from the Tekla Checker / Modeller. Provide regular updates on work progress and pending issues. Highlight any delay or technical issue that may affect project deliverables. Required Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in Tekla detailing for PEB / structural steel projects. Hands-on experience in Tekla Structures. Good understanding of structural steel members and fabrication practices. Ability to read and understand GA drawings and structural drawings. Knowledge of fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and erection drawings. Basic understanding of structural steel connections. Knowledge of BOM generation and member numbering. Good attention to detail and ability to identify basic modelling errors. Ability to work under review and incorporate comments accurately. Good coordination and communication skills. Key Performance Indicators Accuracy of Tekla models and drawings. Timely completion of assigned detailing deliverables. Number of errors identified during checking. Timely incorporation of review comments. Accuracy of member marks and BOMs. Reduction in detailing rework. Compliance with project schedules and detailing standards. Overall accountability The Tekla Detailer will be responsible for preparing accurate Tekla models, fabrication drawings and erection drawings for PEB and structural steel projects, ensuring that all assigned detailing work meets the required quality standards and project timelines under the guidance of the Tekla Checker / Modeller.
