Job summary

Sloan Engineering in Chennai is seeking a BIM/Structural modeller with Tekla proficiency and strong knowledge of US standards. You will review IFC/SPEC drawings, coordinate with modelers and editors, and support client-facing project estimation and scheduling.

The role emphasizes accuracy in shop drawings, GA/erection drawings, and AML/AB planning. Candidate should be adept at resource estimation and coordinating to meet client deadlines, with experience in concrete structures and reinforcement

Qualifications

• Experience with Tekla software following US standards.
• Familiarity with AISC specs including OSHA, ASD, RCSC & NISD.
• Knowledge of SJI (Steel Joist Institute).
• Understanding of concrete structures, slab level/depth, expansion joints, reinforcement, composite steel.

Responsibilities

• Review and estimate projects; allocate resources and plan accordingly.
• Interpret IFC drawings and SPEC documents accurately; design checks.
• Clarify queries with modelers, editors and checkers to ensure model integrity.
• Coordinate with clients to align project scope and schedule.

• Should have experience in US standard with Tekla software.
• Should have sound knowledge in AISC specification like, OSHA, ASD, RCSC & NISD.
• Knowledge in SJI. (Steel Joist Institute).
• Knowledge in concrete structures, like slab level/depth, expansion joint, reinforcement, composite steel etc.
• Project review & estimation.
• Proper resource estimation & allocation.
• Accurate Interpretation of IFC drawings/SPEC doc/CONNECTION design.
• Clarifying modelers, editors & checkers queries.
• Client co-ordination if project demands.
• Work follow-ups to meet client schedule.
• Checking of Complex shop drawings.
• Checking of GA/ERECTION drawings.
• Preparing AML (Advance Material List) reports.
• Preparing AB (Anchor Bolt) plans.
• Model checking.
