Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of experience in Paint R&D, Formulation, Coatings, or Paint Laboratory.
• Experience in a paint manufacturing or chemical R&D environment is preferred.
• Hands-on exposure to paint formulation and testing is a plus.
• Strong analytical and record-keeping skills.

Job description

We are looking for an R&D Assistant / R&D Chemist with hands-on experience in paints and coatings to support product development, paint formulation, laboratory testing, raw material evaluation and performance analysis. The ideal candidate should have practical exposure to a Paint R&D Laboratory and knowledge of paint raw materials, formulations and testing methods.

Role & responsibilities

1. Support Research and Development (R&D) Projects: Assist in planning, executing, and documenting R&D experiments and projects related to paints and coatings.
2. Material Testing: Conduct various tests and analyses on paint materials and coatings to evaluate their properties and performance.
3. Data Collection: Collect and maintain accurate data and records related to R&D activities. Prepare reports and summaries as required.
4. Product Formulation: Assist in the development and optimization of paint formulations, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
5. Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control team to perform quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products.
6. Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the paints and coatings sector.
7. Lab Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the R&D laboratory. Properly handle and store chemicals and equipment.

Preferred candidate profile:

• 6 months 2 years of experience in Paint R&D / Paint Formulation / Coatings R&D / Paint Laboratory.
• Experience in a paint manufacturing company, coatings company or chemical R&D laboratory will be preferred.
• Candidates with hands-on exposure to paint formulation and testing will be Plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
