Role Overview
The Technician will support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Endoscopy Unit, including Endoscopy, Manometry, and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). The role involves assisting consultants during procedures, managing equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high standards of clinical hygiene and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist doctors during endoscopy, manometry, and EUS procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, ensure availability and functionality of instruments and equipment.
- Handle pre- and post-procedure patient preparation and positioning.
- Perform equipment sterilization, cleaning, and reprocessing following hospital guidelines.
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide required support.
- Manage consumables, maintain stock, and report shortages.
- Maintain procedure records, reports, and equipment logs.
- Follow all infection‑control, safety, and quality protocols as per NABH standards.
- Ensure timely coordination with nursing teams, consultants, and support staff.
- Provide patient education and reassurance before and after procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / Certificate in Medical Technology / Endoscopy Technology / relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in endoscopy ultrasound or related areas.
- Knowledge of endoscopic instruments, EUS, and manometry equipment.
- Understanding of sterilization techniques and infection‑control protocols.
- Good communication skills and patient‑handling ability.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
