Job summary

LRQA is seeking a Technical Reviewer to conduct in-depth technical reviews of client files, decide on certification based on standards, and prepare detailed reports. The role includes liaising with clients and internal teams, maintaining CPD, and supporting continuous improvement within the automotive sector.

The candidate should hold a Graduate or Diploma in Engineering, with knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021, IATF rules, SPC, and related concepts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or Diploma in Engineering.
  • Experience in General Engineering, Automotive, or Auto Components.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17021, IATF Rules, SPC, CARa, AIAG-VDA FMEA.
  • Understanding automotive industry practices and terminology.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily review of pending technical review tasks.
  • Conduct technical reviews for assigned jobs based on documentation and standards.
  • Prepare reports detailing technical review outcomes.
  • Upload findings and raise assessor feedback or office actions.
  • Liaise with clients, assessors, and internal teams.
  • Coach team members to support capability building.
  • Maintain CPD records and stay updated on regulatory developments.

Role Purpose

The Technical Reviewer provides technical review support in line with defined procedures, exercising appropriate discretion in managing workload priorities. The role involves conducting technical reviews of client organization files following assessments, making certification decisions, and preparing detailed reports. The reviewer liaises with internal and external stakeholders, ensures compliance with standards and procedures, supports continuous improvement, and maintains up‑to‑date technical competence.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Review Activities
  • Perform daily review of pending technical review tasks.
  • Conduct technical reviews for assigned jobs, including evaluation of:
  • Commercial agreements
  • Assessment reports
  • Certificates
  • Make certification decisions based on documentation and standards.
  • Upload technical review findings and raise:
  • Assessor Feedback
  • Office Actions
  • Nonconformities or clarifications, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with other Technical Reviewers to balance workload and achieve KPI targets.
2. Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare reports detailing technical review outcomes.
  • Update raw data collation spreadsheets with visit details and review findings.
  • Ensure proper data filing and entry according to established procedures.
3. Stakeholder Communication
  • Address internal and external client queries professionally.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, assessors, and internal teams.
4. Coaching & Knowledge Transfer
  • Provide guidance to team members to support capability building and knowledge sharing.
5. Competency Maintenance
  • Conduct assessments as needed to maintain qualification status.
  • Stay updated on technical and regulatory developments within the automotive sector.
  • Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records.
6. Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal procedures, contractual requirements, budgets, and relevant standards.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Educational Qualification
  • Graduate or Diploma in Engineering.
Technical Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of:
  • ISO/IEC 17021 series
  • IATF Rules
  • SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • CARa (Certification and Reporting Application)
  • AIAG-VDA FMEA
  • Rule 6th
  • Good understanding of:
  • Automobile industry practices
  • Sector‑specific terminology, regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Typical automotive manufacturing processes and controls
Work Experience
  • Experience in General Engineering, Automotive, or Auto Components sectors.
  • Able to understand technologies, processes, and terminology used across automotive and related industries.
Overall Competency Expectations
  • Demonstrate analytical ability to interpret assessment outputs.
  • Apply judgment consistent with certification requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
  • Uphold accuracy, integrity, and procedural compliance in all review activities.
