Job summary

LRQA, a leading global assurance partner, seeks an experienced inspector/engineer to perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service assets for compliance. You will deliver reports and certificates, review work, and present findings to clients at a senior level.

The role involves managing client relationships, seeking new opportunities within the region, and ensuring compliance with health and safety, procedures, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Trade/technical/vocational qualifications, including job-specific certifications.
  • ASME AI or IBR Competent Person qualification or membership of a recognised professional body preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience demonstrating understanding of requirements, knowledge and application.

Responsibilities

  • Perform surveys and inspections against defined specifications and provide advisory support within budget and contractual constraints.
  • Produce deliverables (reports, certificates, documents) and review colleagues’ work.
  • Present deliverables to clients at senior level and suggest alternatives when appropriate.
  • Manage client relationships and identify opportunities to grow the business in the region.
  • Ensure activities comply with procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance for team with proper training and resources.

Job description

Role Purpose:

Perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures.

Key responsibilities:
  • Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees work as requested.
  • Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve Service Delivery and to help build the business.
  • Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities.
  • Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Manage your own, and your team’s compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering) from a recognised University, or equivalent.
  • Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications.
  • Qualification as ASME AI or IBR Competent Person or both are required for the role. Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
  • Shall possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience (minimum 8 years) to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge, and application.
  • Competent in MS Office suite of softwareProficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
