Job summary

LRQA Bengaluru is seeking an experienced engineer to perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service assets for compliance against Codes, Standards and procedures. You will produce deliverables, review colleagues’ work and present results to clients, while managing relationships and identifying new opportunities in the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Production Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications.
  • ASME AI or IBR Competent Person are highly desired and will be given preference.
  • Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
  • Shall possess minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Competent in MS Office suite of software.
  • Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope within budget and contractual requirements.
  • Produce reports/certificates/documents within broad parameters and review colleagues’ work.
  • Discuss and present deliverables to clients at senior level; suggest alternatives where appropriate.
  • Manage client relationships and LRQA relationships; advise on service delivery improvements.
  • Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients in the region.
  • Follow internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Ensure team compliance with health and safety rules and training requirements.

Role Purpose:

Perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Produce the deliverable (reports/certificates/documents) within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees work as requested.
  • Discuss/present deliverable to internal/external client at a senior level and suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Contribute to internal/external client management as appropriate, by acting as point of contact to effectively manage client and LRQA relationships and make recommendations based on client feedback to improve Service Delivery and to help build the business.
  • Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities.
  • Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
  • Manage your own, and your team’s compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production Engineering) from a recognised University, or equivalent.
  • Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications.
  • Qualification as ASME AI or IBR Competent Person are highly desired and will be given preference.
  • Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body.
  • Shall possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience (minimum 8 years) to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge, and application.
  • Competent in MS Office suite of software
  • Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
