Job summary

Kumaran Systems in Chennai seeks a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead end-to-end delivery of complex software projects, bridging business, architecture, and engineering teams. The role blends technical understanding, PM disciplines, and stakeholder communication.

You will drive agile ceremonies, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage scope and risks, and ensure alignment across requirements, architecture, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years IT/software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in technical project/program management or technical delivery management.
  • Experience managing enterprise application development projects involving multiple technical teams.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience end-to-end SDLC from requirements through production deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technically complex software projects.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable features, user stories, specifications, and delivery plans.
  • Manage scope, schedule, dependencies, risks, issues, and technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate architects, technical leads, developers, QA, DevOps, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Establish and maintain project plans, milestones, release plans, and delivery status.
  • Ensure requirements, architecture, development, testing, and deployment remain aligned.
  • Coordinate technical design and architecture reviews with the Technical Lead.
  • Drive requirements traceability and documentation throughout the SDLC.
  • Support adoption of Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Git-based development practices.
  • Track technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and architectural decisions.
  • Coordinate SIT, UAT, production readiness, releases, and post-release activities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering, security, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Facilitate resolution of cross-team technical and delivery issues.

Job Description

A Technical Project Manager (TPM) leads the end-to-end delivery of complex software projects, acting as the bridge between business, architecture, and engineering teams. The role combines strong technical understanding , project management , and stakeholder communication .

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technically complex software projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, React.js, TypeScript, SQL, and microservices .
  • Good understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of API-first and event-driven architectures.
  • Understanding of cloud, containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and CI/CD.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub and modern development practices.
  • Knowledge of Spec-Driven Development / GitHub Spec Kit is an advantage.
  • Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to review architecture and technical designs and communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience

  • 10+ years of overall IT/software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in technical project/program management or technical delivery management.
  • Experience managing enterprise application development projects involving multiple technical teams.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience managing distributed or cross-functional development teams.
  • Experience with end-to-end SDLC from requirements through production deployment.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in architecture-led or modernization projects is preferred.
