Job description

Technical Product Manager – Merchandising Platform

Bangalore South, India | Posted on 03/06/2026

Increff is a leading retail SaaS partner helping brands and retailers solve complex merchandising, inventory planning, and supply chain challenges. Our products help retailers make better planning decisions across demand forecasting, merchandise financial planning, assortment planning, buying, allocation, replenishment, and in-season management.

What We Offer

We build retail technology products for brands and retailers operating at scale. At Increff, you will work on complex planning systems that combine domain workflows, data models, forecasting engines, business rules, and user-facing decision tools.

This role offers the opportunity to shape a 0-to-1 merchandising planning platform from the ground up.

Our Vision

To be the most admired retail technology company.

Role Summary

As a Technical Product Manager for Merchandising Planning Systems, you will work at the intersection of retail planning, product design, data models, and engineering architecture. You will own not just the “what” of the product, but also help shape the “how”: workflows, screen flows, planning logic, API expectations, system behavior, and platform-level trade-offs.

This is a 0-to-1 builder role for someone who is technically strong, product-minded, and excited by complex planning problems such as demand forecasting, MFP, assortment planning, open-to-buy, allocation, replenishment, and in-season planning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead product discovery and development for Increff’s merchandising planning platform.
  • Work across planning modules such as Demand Forecasting, Merchandise Financial Planning, Pre-Season Planning, Assortment Planning, Open-to-Buy, Allocation, Replenishment, and In-Season Planning.
  • Convert planner workflows, retail operating processes, and business planning requirements into clear PRDs, workflow diagrams, screen flows, prototypes, and product specifications.
  • Design scalable product behavior around planning dimensions, hierarchies, scenarios, versions, approvals, simulations, and exceptions.
  • Create UI mockups and functional prototypes using tools such as Figma, Cursor, or other prototyping platforms.
  • Collaborate deeply with tech leads on architecture, APIs, data models, engine behavior, performance, configurability, and maintainability.
  • Make product decisions that balance user needs, planning flexibility, platform consistency, scalability, and long-term product architecture.
  • Push back on short-term feature requests that compromise platform integrity, planning consistency, or future extensibility.
  • Own product documentation including PRDs, workflow notes, API expectations, screen flows, logic definitions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, prioritization, and delivery coordination with engineering.
  • Conduct internal and client-facing demos, explaining planning workflows clearly to sales, customer success, implementation teams, and enterprise clients.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, balancing new planning capabilities with technical debt reduction and platform stability.
  • Contribute to AI-powered planning capabilities that simplify complex planner journeys, decision-making, exception handling, and scenario analysis.
Requirements
  • Mandatory engineering degree.
  • Mandatory 2-4 years of software engineering experience in backend or full-stack development.
  • 1-3 years of product management experience in SaaS, retail tech, supply chain, planning systems, analytics platforms, or B2B enterprise products.
  • Strong ability to write PRDs, define API expectations, and collaborate with engineering teams on architecture, scalability, and performance.
  • Comfortable working with complex data models, workflows, business rules, and configurable enterprise systems.
  • Ability to create UI mocks, workflow diagrams, and prototypes without depending on a dedicated design team.
  • Strong understanding of modular design, technical debt, platform thinking, configurability, and system extensibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present roadmaps, host demos, align stakeholders, and explain complex planning workflows to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Good To Have
  • Prior experience with merchandising planning, demand forecasting, MFP, assortment planning, OTB, allocation, replenishment, or retail planning systems.
  • Experience building analytics, planning, ERP, supply chain, or decision-support platforms.
  • Exposure to forecasting systems, scenario planning, workflow orchestration, configurable rules, or approval workflows.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Figma, Cursor, or other prototyping tools.
  • Experience designing complex operational or planning systems for enterprise users.
