Mars Bengaluru plant seeks a senior engineer to lead Site Reliability, SIG and Utilities, driving maintenance programs, cost efficiency and continuous improvement. You will oversee staff development, plan asset care and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure consistent plant performance.

Strong background in maintenance/reliability within large manufacturing and FMCG settings is essential. This role focuses on energy/utilities optimization and sustainability initiatives at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 12-15 years experience in maintenance and reliability in large manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with energy/utilities focus.
• Excellent communication and financial acumen (Opex/Capex).
• Proven line management and cross-functional collaboration.

• Lead Site Reliability, SIG & Utilities teams; staffing, training, and problem solving.
• Holds accountability for small & minor projects alongside Reliability & SIG.
• Develop and refine an asset maintenance plan with preventive methodologies.
• Contribute to risk management for reliability-related and other risks.
• Develop engineering solutions for repetitive failures affecting operations.
• Drive continuous improvement via MSE–FMOS deployment and wow mindset.

Job Description

Job Purpose

• Ensure reliability of all assets and deliver TRS through compliance to MSE program.
• Ensure effective selection, purchase, installation, commissioning, maintenance & retirement of assets, optimize profit, FATR and ROTA through delivery of the Small & Minor budget for Bangalore site.
• Drive continuous improvement of layout, assets & technical capabilities at site.
• Drive Site SIG Strategy in collaboration with Regional SIG, develop and deliver annual site goals/projects.
• Ensure monitoring, reporting and statutory compliances of Utilities.
• Engage associates and build capable team for now & future

Job Responsibilities

• Apply Engineering and People Management knowledge, skills and experience to manage the Site Reliability, SIG & Utilities teams. This includes staffing, training, developing, leading, directing, and problem solving as necessary.
• Holds overall accountability for small & minors projects along with Reliability & SIG.
• Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes: - Value-added preventive maintenance, effective predictive methodologies to isolate inherent reliability problems.
• Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
• Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
• Engage all Maintenance associates into site Continuous Improvement delivery, build capability, embed Mindset and Behaviors and harmonize WOW through MSE –FMOS deployment to ensure consistent site performance.
• Responsible for monitoring, reporting and statutory compliances of Utilities function inclusive of electricity, steam, water and air.
• Participate in site CAB definition/management and development in collaboration with IE and regional engineering team
• As a member of the Factory Management team, contribute to all activities that will drive the factory towards its future. Support & develop cross functional ways of working & “line of one” mindset & approach.
• Demonstrate exemplarity on Five Principles and cascade Mindset and Behaviors in the organization.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 12-15 years of experience in maintenance and reliability, engineering or operations management experience in a large manufacturing environment. FMCG and food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude and has required knowledge of energy & utilities, efficiency improvements & passion for sustainability initiatives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and advanced computer skills including the tools associated with failure detection as well as the software associated with them.
• Strong Financial knowledge related to Opex and Capex.
• Strong line management capability and experience
