Job summary

Landis+Gyr is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join our QA team in India. You will develop and execute test plans based on technical requirements, write and run test cases, and analyze results to validate software across web, GUI, database and client/server platforms.

The role requires hands-on Unix/Windows testing, SQL querying, and strong collaboration in Scrum teams. Ideal candidates bring 4–6 years of hands-on testing experience, with Robot Framework, Python, Selenium, and

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans using technical requirements and design specifications as input
• Write and execute test cases and analyze results
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and perform testing in Unix/Windows environments and dig into logs
• Write medium-to-complex SQL queries and perform data validation
• Utilize automation frameworks and programming (Java, Python, Selenium)
• Document installation instructions and provide technical support
• Manage defects, verifications, and Scrum-based collaboration
• Identify quality KPIs and ensure compliance at each stage

Key Purpose of Role:

The role requires testing in a fast-paced, time-sensitive project, switching between tasks, and following the work plan to meet project milestones.

• To develop and execute test plans using technical requirements and design specifications as input.


• To write test cases and execute them.


• To analyse test results, perform data validation, track defects and provide regular status updates.


• To analyse, troubleshoot and execute testing activities in Unix/Windows environment. Should be hands-on on Unix/Windows-related systems and be able to dig into logs to troubleshoot.


• Writing and executing medium-level to complex-level SQL queries.


• To use different techniques while performing testing tasks related to the database, backend processes and front-end applications.


• Well-versed with automation frameworks and hands-on with automation programming like Java, Python, and Selenium.


• Documentation of installation instructions and providing technical support are also required.
