PACCAR India seeks a Technical Lead – Software Engineering to steer the design and maintenance of vehicle configuration and performance models for heavy-duty programs in Pune.

You will provide technical direction, define modelling approaches, and validate engineering deliverables across cross-functional teams, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of vehicle configuration and performance models for heavy-duty vehicle applications.
  • Own system-level design decisions and provide technical direction for implementation activities.
  • Provide technical leadership to implementation engineers through design reviews and validation.
  • Define modelling approaches, engineering methodologies, and technical standards.
  • Perform vehicle performance analysis and simulations to support decisions and requirements.
  • Define and maintain calculation logic for vehicle configuration and assessments.
  • Influence design and product decisions through analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Testing, Quality, Sales, and Product teams to drive outcomes.
  • Lead validation activities and ensure quality and functional expectations.
  • Review vehicle performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes and engineering practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation and design records.
  • Support Sales and Product teams by translating requirements into customer-focused solutions.

Job Function / Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of vehicle configuration and performance models for heavy-duty vehicle applications.
  • Own system-level design decisions and provide technical direction for implementation activities across vehicle configuration and performance modelling solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership to implementation engineers through design reviews, solution guidance, and validation of engineering deliverables.
  • Define modelling approaches, engineering methodologies, and technical standards to ensure consistency and quality across vehicle configuration solutions.
  • Perform vehicle performance analysis and simulations to evaluate design feasibility, compliance, customer requirements, and support engineering decision-making.
  • Define and maintain calculation logic supporting vehicle configuration and performance assessments.
  • Influence design and product decisions through analysis, recommendations, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Testing, Quality, Sales, and Product teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Lead validation activities and ensure solutions meet quality and functional expectations.
  • Review vehicle performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and engineering practices.
