Aptiv in Bengaluru seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to shape automotive software. The role focuses on POSIX/Linux development for ARM SoCs, including infotainment and cockpit platforms, with C++14 and kernel-level work.

You will bring up software on EVBs, optimize builds with Yocto, and collaborate across cross-functional teams. 8–16 years of relevant automotive embedded experience is expected.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech in Electricals/ Electronics/ Instrumentation and relevant experience.
• 8–16 years of experience in automotive embedded software development.
• POSIX (QNX/Linux) config/development for ARM SoCs; C++14 in embedded context.
• Kernel and device driver development; SW bring-up on EVB/Custom HW.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and define technical specs across SDLC for OEMs and Aptiv teams.
• Develop BSP/POSIX for automotive infotainment and cockpit platforms.
• Test software modules (unit/integration) and optimize KPIs.
• Debug customer issues in agile sprints and collaborate across teams.

Your Role

• Analyzing internal and customer requirements, defining technical requirements handling phases of SDLC/STLC in collaboration with the OEM & other Aptiv competencies , and converting these into Designs and Code

• Development of BSP/POSIX for Automotive Embedded systems like Infotainment platform for User Experience products.

• Development of Cockpit platform Software for targets

• Responsible for Software module testing (functional, Unit / integration testing) and understand and involve in various SW and System KPIs and related refinements

• Debugging and resolving the customer reported issues in an agile manner

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to bring innovation or overcome the obstacles of the owned modules

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

• A graduate in BE/B.Tech/ ME/ M.Tech (Electricals/ Electronics/ Instrumentation)

• Experience Required – 8 - 16 Years

• POSIX (QNX/Linux) configuration/development for ARM based SoCs

• Software product development on SoC with C++14 in embedded context (low level driver), including object-oriented thinking and meta programming: design, programming, debugging, code quality assurance, profiling, optimization, refactoring

• Kernel development and maintenance

• Strong Knowledge on Qualcomm/TITD4/ SAMSUNG SOC

• Device drivers development for target platform

• Proven experience in SW bring up on EVB’s and Custom HW

• Strong Experience in Error Handling techniques and debugging tools

• Configuration of build for specific target (Yocto)

• Prior experience in modern software development processes: backlog refinement and management, testing (unit tests, behavior tests, integration tests, test-driven development, testing tools and frameworks), Continuous Integration (task automation, Jenkins, flows, merge gates), code reviews, environment scripting and automation.

• Experience with the common SW development processes (ASPICE, Scrum, Scrumban, Kanban) and Automotive Software

• Experience with SW version, requirements and change management tools like Git/Gerrit, Jira, Polarion, Jenkins

• Expertise in flashing and testing of ECUs, and in design and development of complex embedded software systems (C, C++)

• Assist the Product Owner to define, plan and prioritize the backlog for a software component team

• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

• Assist the Agile Team to define and scale user stories, and to estimate their size
