The role focuses on Node.js/Express backend, real-time features, and robust data handling with MySQL, Redis, and queue systems. Collaboration with Product, QA, DevOps, and frontend teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on Node.js and Express.js expertise.
• Excellent knowledge of MySQL including queries, indexing, and transactions.
• Experience with Socket.IO/WebSockets for real-time apps.
• Experience with Redis for caching, Pub/Sub, and sessions.
• Hands-on with queueing systems like BullMQ, SQS, Azure Sockets/Service Bus, RabbitMQ.
• Working knowledge of Angular for integration and architecture.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Git, REST APIs, JWT authentication, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and production support abilities.
• Leadership: mentoring and conducting code reviews and technical interviews.

About the Role

Competent Groove is looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to lead the design and development of scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong backend expertise, experience with distributed systems, and the ability to mentor developers while actively contributing to architecture and coding.

Key Responsibilities

Lead backend development using Node.js and Express.js .

Design scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs.

Build real-time applications using Socket.IO/WebSockets .

Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, and indexing.

Implement caching and messaging using Redis and queue systems.

Review code, mentor developers, and enforce coding standards.

Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Frontend teams.

Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance improvements.

Participate in architecture, sprint planning, and technical decision-making.

Required Skills

5+ years of experience in backend development.

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js .
