Job summary

Rakuten Symphony seeks a Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our global IT infrastructure team. You will design, implement, automate, and support advanced networking solutions across multi-vendor environments with a focus on 4G/5G, automation, cloud integration, and security.

You will collaborate with telecom clients, manage high-performance networks, and deliver end-to-end solutions, driving OSS integration and change management across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical/electronics/computer engineering or related field.
• CCNA certification is required.
• IEEE 1588v2 and Dasans STU expertise preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in network administration, design and support.
• Hands-on VPN technologies (Site-to-Site, SSL, AnyConnect, DMVPN).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support advanced network infrastructures including mobile backhaul/fronthaul for 4G/5G networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco Nexus, Cisco IOS XR and DZS C1216 series).
• Implement advanced routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6.
• Perform device hardening and vulnerability assessments for compliance and security.
• Build and maintain network automation scripts using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and YAML/JSON templates.
• Well versed with implementing IEEE 1588v2 along with SyncE for synchronization in 4G/5G networks.
• Oversee Zero Touch Provisioning and fault/performance management integration with OSS tools.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues using tools such as Wireshark, Spirent, IXIA and Calnex.
• Lead change management processes including software release coordination and documentation (MOP, RCA).
• Manage customer-facing engagements and PoCs for new product introduction.
• Work and manage operational TT’s for the relevant network elements
