Paisabazaar in Gurugram is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to build next‑generation digital payment platforms. The role requires strong Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and distributed systems expertise, with hands‑on experience in UPI, TPAP, NPCI, and Payment Gateway ecosystems.

You will design secure, scalable backend services that process millions of transactions with high availability and reliability, collaborating with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross‑functional teams in Gurugram.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on Java backend development experience.
• Experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST APIs, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS and secure payment architecture is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Build and enhance payment solutions for UPI, TPAP platforms.
• Develop secure REST APIs and integrate with NPCI, banking systems, payment switches, and third-party services.
• Optimize application performance, API response times, and database queries.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve platform reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver features on time.

About the Role-

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to build next-generation digital payment platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and distributed systems, along with hands‑on experience in UPI, TPAP, NPCI, Payment Gateway, BBPS, or other digital payment systems.

You will be responsible for designing and developing secure, scalable, and high-performance backend services that process millions of transactions while ensuring high availability, reliability, and an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities-

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Build and enhance payment solutions for UPI, TPAP platforms.
• Develop secure REST APIs and integrate with NPCI, banking systems, payment switches, and third-party services.

Required Skills

• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in Java 17 or above, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, MySQL, and Microservices.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of system design, scalability, high availability, caching, and performance optimization.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Domain Experience-

Candidates with hands‑on experience in UPI, TPAP, NPCI, Payment Gateway, Wallet, Banking APIs, or other FinTech products will be preferred. Experience in building high‑volume transaction processing systems and knowledge of PCI-DSS and secure payment architecture is a strong advantage.
