Job summary

Cauldron Petrotech India is seeking a Senior Technical Head of Technical Services to bridge product development with manufacturing quality and customer applications. This role leads technical support teams, drives R&D for new lubricant formulations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides expert guidance to sales and marketing.

The ideal candidate will define the technical roadmap, oversee QA, perform field trials, liaise with suppliers, and mentor chemists and engineers to deliver

Qualifications

• Strategic leadership experience defining and executing a technical roadmap for lubricants/greases.
• High-level customer technical support and sales enablement for key accounts.
• Strong quality assurance and regulatory compliance oversight in labs.
• Experience validating new products via field trials and benchmarking.
• Proven ability to lead and develop chemists, technicians and engineers.
• Capability to support technical marketing with literature and guides.
• In-depth knowledge of base oils, additives, and lubricant manufacturing.

A Technical Head of Technical Services in the oil and grease (lubricants) industry is a senior leadership role responsible for bridging the gap between product development, manufacturing quality, and customer application. This role leads technical support teams, drives R&D for new formulations, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides specialized expertise to support sales and marketing initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strategic Technical Leadership: Define and execute the technical roadmap, including R&D for new product development and optimization of existing lubricant/grease formulations to meet international standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, API).
• Customer Technical Support & Sales Enablement: Provide high-level technical expertise to key accounts, assisting in lubrication surveys, product recommendations, and solving complex application challenges. Handling customer queries & complaints.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Oversee laboratory testing, quality control processes, and ensure all products comply with environmental, safety, and industry regulations.
• Product Validation & Field Trials: Manage the validation of new products through rigorous field trials and performance benchmarking against competitors.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and train technical staff, including chemists, lab technicians, and field engineers.
• Technical Marketing Support: Create technical literature, whitepapers, and guides to support sales teams in promoting product advantages.
• Raw Material & Supplier Evaluation: Liaise with suppliers for technical evaluation of base oils and additives.

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of additives, base fluids, grease manufacturing, and laboratory testing protocols.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage teams, lead cross‑functional projects, and communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
