Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Technical Expert in Chennai/Bangalore/Pune with 12+ years of IP and Optical development experience for OTN products. The role focuses on end-to-end architecture, trade-off analysis, and alignment across hardware, software and ecosystem strategy.

Familiarity with Open ROADM, YANG models, and SDN concepts is essential. The candidate will drive forum-based optical system development and contribute to long-term technology decisions, with a strong emphasis on customer-focused

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in IP and Optical development for OTN products.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming and Linux fundamentals.
• Experience with Flex Grid DWDM systems and disaggregated optical architectures.
• Open ROADM specifications and YANG models.
• Coherent optics and modulation schemes; familiarity with line impairments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end OLS architecture.
• Perform trade-off analysis across cost, performance, openness, and scale.
• Drive alignment across hardware, software, and ecosystem strategy.
• Bring exposure to Open ROADM MSA, TIP, OIF, or equivalent forum-based optical system development.

• Own end‑to‑end OLS architecture
• Perform trade‑off analysis across cost, performance, openness, and scale
• Flex‑Grid‑capable WSS, EDFA/Raman amplifiers, and passive elements.
• Make long‑term platform and technology choices, and understand the nuances behind Nokia’s architectural decisions
• Drive alignment across hardware, software, and ecosystem strategy
• Bring exposure to Open ROADM MSA, TIP, OIF, or equivalent forum‑based optical system development

Required Qualifications:

• Skilled in a diverse array of DWDM/SONET/SDH/OTN equipment and configurations.
• Experience in OTN L0/L1 Products
• Experience in developing and debugging Device Drivers, Bootloaders, and Board support Packages
  Able read and understand the Hardware-software spec.
  Strong hands-on experience with I2C, SPI, PCIe, GPIO, Serdes, SGMII, GPIO Interfaces is a plus
• Experience with Linux kernel related issues, debug Kernel Panics and apply Patches.
