Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems, electrical control panels, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Panel Design using CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN and BOM preparation.
  • Electrical Panel Assembly and wiring per approved drawings; verify wiring before energization.
  • Quality Assurance: FAT/SAT preparation, inspections, test documentation and compliance.
  • Industrial Automation & Robotics Development: PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, sensor/actuator integration, protocol configuration.
  • Installation & Commissioning: on-site installation, testing, interlock verification, handover documentation, customer training.
  • Documentation: engineering docs, operation manuals, backups of programs, revision control.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and service activities.

Job Summary

The Automation & Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, assembling, testing, installing, commissioning, and supporting industrial automation systems and electrical control panels. The role also involves Analysing Industrial automation requirements, designing solution, Implementation, robotics development, troubleshooting, and on-site commissioning of automation solutions for manufacturing and Industry 4.0 applications.


Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Panel Design
  • Design electrical control panels using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent CAD software.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, terminal plans, and panel layouts.
  • Select suitable electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, relays, circuit breakers, SMPS, sensors, and safety devices.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), cable schedules, and engineering documentation.
2. Electrical Panel Assembly
  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to approved drawings.
  • Mount electrical components, route cables, perform ferruling, crimping, labeling, and termination.
  • Verify panel wiring before energization.
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure timely panel manufacturing.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and electrical safety during assembly.
3. Quality Assurance
  • Inspect incoming electrical components for quality and specifications.
  • Perform panel inspections, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing.
  • Verify PLC I/O wiring, power circuits, and control circuits.
  • Prepare and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and test documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management procedures and customer requirements.
4. Industrial Automation & Robotics Development
  • Develop PLC programs for machine and process automation.
  • Configure and develop HMI and SCADA applications.
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, servo systems, drives, machine vision systems, and industrial robots.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, CANopen, OPC UA, and MQTT.
  • Troubleshoot automation systems and optimize machine performance.
  • Participate in the development of Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing solutions.
5. Installation & Commissioning
  • Install electrical control panels, sensors, field devices, and automation equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform electrical wiring checks and field cable terminations.
  • Commission PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, servo, and robotic systems.
  • Conduct I/O testing, functional testing, interlock verification, and performance validation.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, communication, and field integration issues.
  • Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, site documentation, and customer handover documents.
  • Provide post-installation technical support whenever required.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and service activities.

Documentation
  • Prepare engineering documentation, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Maintain backups of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robot programs.
  • Prepare installation reports, commissioning reports, FAT/SAT reports, and service reports.
  • Maintain revision control of all engineering documents.
