Job summary

Metaphor Infotech Mumbai is seeking a Chartered Accountant / accounting professional with deep experience in core financial accounting, financial reporting, IFRS, US GAAP and GAAP conversion projects.

The role involves supporting complex accounting matters, financial statement preparation, and implementation of new accounting standards across domestic and international entities.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA/CPA with core accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience in IFRS and US GAAP.
• GAAP conversion/transition project experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with IFRS 15, IFRS 16, ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Ability to prepare and review IFRS/Ind AS/US GAAP financial statements.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate with auditors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial accounting and reporting for domestic and international entities.
• Lead GAAP conversion and transition projects (Ind AS to IFRS and US GAAP).
• Support implementation of accounting standards and assess impact.
• Prepare and review IFRS, Ind AS and US GAAP financial statements.
• Prepare technical accounting memos.
• Provide accounting advisory on revenue recognition, lease accounting and business combinations.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant / accounting professional with strong experience in core financial accounting, financial reporting, IFRS, US GAAP and GAAP conversion/implementation projects. The role will involve supporting complex accounting matters, financial statement preparation, accounting conversions and implementation of new accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support financial accounting and financial reporting activities for domestic and international entities.
• Lead GAAP conversion and transition projects, including Ind AS to IFRS and Ind AS to US GAAP.
• Support implementation of accounting standards and assess their impact on financial statements and business processes.
• Prepare and review IFRS, Ind AS and US GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare technical accounting memos for complex accounting matters.
• Provide accounting advisory on areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations and financial reporting.
• Support implementation of IFRS 15, IFRS 16, ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Perform accounting analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and review of accounting entries.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax teams, finance controllers and international stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and standardisation within financial reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, reporting requirements and internal controls.
• Guide and mentor junior team members and support delivery of accounting projects within agreed timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• CA / CPA / equivalent accounting qualification preferred.
• Strong experience in Financial Accounting / Financial Reporting / Technical Accounting.
• Hands-on experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP.
• Proven experience in GAAP conversion, implementation or transition projects.
• Strong understanding of Ind AS, IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience with IFRS 15, IFRS 16, ASC 606 and/or ASC 842.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and review.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred

• Experience in FAAS / Accounting Advisory / Technical Accounting.
• Exposure to SAP FICO, BlackLine or other accounting/reporting tools.
• Experience working with multinational clients or cross-border finance teams.
• Experience in managing or mentoring junior accounting professionals.

Ideal Candidate

A CA/CPA with hands-on core accounting and financial reporting experience, particularly someone who has worked on IFRS/US GAAP conversions, accounting standard implementation and technical accounting assignments.
