Job summary

FHLB Des Moines is seeking a senior SAP ABAP HANA specialist in a remote-capable role in India. You will strengthen custom development, optimize RAP-based models and support business processes through robust ABAP and S/4HANA enhancements.

The profile requires 5+ years of ABAP with S/4HANA, RAP experience, and exposure to private cloud and Fiori integration. Travel may be occasional, with focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

PurposeWe are seeking a SAP ABAP HANA with 10 to 12 years of experience specializing in SAP ABAP HANA with strong SAP technical background. The role focuses on strengthening SAP ABAP HANA custom development and supporting business processes through robust RAP frameworks with strong ABAP and SAP Functional background.Key Duties and Responsibilities· Strong expertise in:o ABAP OO, Classical ABAP, RICEF objectso S/4HANA development – CDS Views, AMDP, Open SQL optimization, code pushdowno RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) – CDS-based modelling, BDEF, behaviour implementations, service bindingso OData Services (SEGW, RAP-based exposure) and API integrations· Solid understanding of SAP Clean Core principles and development of clean core-compliant custom objects.· Knowledge of EML (Entity Manipulation Language) Experience with:o Enhancements – BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, custom field & custom logic app.o BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, APIs· Adobe Forms / SmartForms.· Knowledge of ATC checks with SAP best practices for S4 HANA cloud.· Good technical understanding of functional processes in MM, SD, FI, PP, EWM.· Experience in custom code remediation, performance tuning, and S/4HANA conversion activities.· Ability to work independently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.· Understanding of BTP (BAS) studio.· Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP (RAP) solutions in SAP S/4HANA.· Build and optimize CDS Views, AMDP logic, and HANA-optimized custom code.· Develop and expose RAP-based business objects and OData services.· Develop and maintain RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).· Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, security, governance, and clean-core guidelines.· Collaborate with functional and Fiori/UI5 teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.· Perform unit testing, code reviews, performance optimization, and production issue resolution.· Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and knowledge transfer materials.· Support SIT, UAT, go-live, and post-go-live activities.· Experience with FIORI integrationIn addition to the main responsibilities listed above the manager is allowed to USE discretion TO add further duties and tasks based on the business needs which are not explicitly listed here.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducationCompleted university degree.
