Job summary

Infinity Learn is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead Backend to guide the design, development, delivery and production ownership of scalable backend services and APIs.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQL, Microservices, and AWS Serverless technologies, along with experience in technical leadership and mentoring engineers. You will own backend systems end-to-end from design through production ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Python and FastAPI experience.
• Proficient in SQL and PostgreSQL with data modeling and optimization.
• Experience designing microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiar with AWS Lambda, S3 and SQS for serverless architectures.
• Ability to design robust API contracts and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with production troubleshooting and ownership.
• Experience in code/design reviews and mentorship.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, testing, logging, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture of scalable backend services, REST APIs and event-driven microservices.
• Design and review API contracts, database models, integrations and system architecture.
• Develop and enhance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Review code, designs and database changes for quality, security and performance.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL/SQL schemas, queries, indexes and transactions.
• Build and operate microservices and distributed systems in production.

• Own backend services end-to-end including deployment and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause resolution.
• Mentor backend engineers through code reviews and design discussions.

• Experience with high-scale or latency‑sensitive backend systems.


• Exposure to infrastructure as code, containerized deployments and serverless architecture.


• Knowledge of security, performance optimization and reliability engineering.
