Job summary

Axonwise Technologies is seeking a hands-on engineering lead to turn product priorities into clear delivery plans and remove blockers. You will contribute code and reviews while supporting teammates in a hands-on role, not just people management.

You will guide Ruby on Rails or Python services and React interfaces, mentor engineers, and help the team balance delivery speed with quality, security, and data confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of software engineering experience with ownership of team-sized features.
• Hands-on experience with Rails or Python and React applications.
• Experience delivering web features with APIs and databases.
• Familiar with AI development tools and data security practices.
• Strong ability to explain trade-offs and mentor peers.

You will help a small team turn product priorities into a clear delivery plan, make day-to-day technical decisions, and remove blockers. You will contribute code and reviews while supporting teammates; this is a hands-on team leadership role, not a people-management-only position.

What you will do

• Turn product priorities into scoped milestones, clarify ownership, and communicate delivery risks early.
• Guide implementation across Ruby on Rails or Python services and React interfaces, contributing code where useful.
• Use AI tools in daily development and help the team review generated code, tests, and documentation responsibly.
• Keep code review, testing, and release practices effective without slowing delivery with unnecessary process.
• Pair with engineers, give actionable feedback, and help teammates grow their technical judgment.
• Coordinate production follow-up when issues arise and make sure lessons lead to practical improvements.

What we are looking for

• 6-9 years of software engineering experience, including ownership of team-sized features or projects.
• Strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails or Python and practical understanding of React-based applications.
• Experience delivering web features involving APIs, relational data, testing, and production support.
• Regular use of AI development tools, with sound judgment about accuracy, security, and confidential data.
• Ability to make and explain technical trade-offs, coordinate team delivery, and mentor engineers collaboratively.

Experience with AWS or another cloud, background jobs, event-driven integrations, SaaS products, or leading a remote team is helpful.
