Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai invites a Team Lead for the Chassis function to steer end-to-end engineering of safety attachments for commercial vehicles. You will work with global teams to drive project execution and ensure regulatory and quality standards are met.

The role requires strong automotive design, program management, and people leadership to develop talent, deliver defect-free products on schedule, and collaborate across Germany, Türkiye, Brazil, and India.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Master's degree advantageous
• Extensive experience in automotive product development
• Proven leadership of engineering teams in an OEM
• Strong communication and intercultural collaboration skills
• Ability to influence across functions and locations

Responsabilidades

• Lead design, development, validation, and release of frame-mounted safety systems
• Deliver milestones and Quality Gate requirements on time, with quality and cost targets
• Drive engineering decisions balancing safety, quality, manufacturability, cost and customer needs
• Ensure compliance with global regulations, internal standards and processes
• Lead verification, validation and proactive project risk management
• Lead, coach and develop a team of seven engineers and system leads
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams across Germany, Türkiye, Brazil, and India

As a Team Lead within the Chassis function, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end engineering of safety attachments for commercial vehicles. You will drive project execution in collaboration with global teams, ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards, and lead a team of engineers to deliver defect-free products aligned with project timelines.

This role requires strong technical expertise in automotive design, program management capability, and leadership acumen to enhance team capability, foster innovation, and support cross-functional business objectives.

Education

• Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering; a master s degree is an advantage

Experience

• Extensive experience in automotive product development, ideally within a commercial vehicle OEM

• Proven leadership of engineering teams in an OEM and experience in global, multicultural organizations

• Strong expertise in commercial vehicle structures, frame systems, and safety attachments

• Sound program management knowledge and understanding of automotive development and release processes
