Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in India is seeking a Team Leader – Genset Assembly to lead daily production of generator sets, manage assembly line performance, and drive safety and Lean initiatives.

Location: Chh. Sambhajinagar; Experience: 5 to 8 years; Qualification: Diploma – Electrical or mechanical; you will coordinate with stores, planning, quality, testing and maintenance teams, train operators, and ensure adherence to 5S and Kaizen practices.

Qualifications

• Genset assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Engine and alternator integration knowledge.
• Reading engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Production planning and manpower management.
• Root Cause Analysis, Quality systems and process audits, SAP production transactions, MS Excel and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily production plans and achieve assembly targets.
• Monitor complete genset assembly activities including engine, alternator, canopy, fuel system, wiring, and final fitment.
• Ensure line balancing and optimum manpower utilization.
• Coordinate with Stores, Planning, Quality, Testing, and Maintenance teams.
• Lead, train, and motivate assembly operators and technicians.
• Conduct daily shift meetings and review production performance.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and skill development.
• Ensure compliance with EHS and safety requirements.
• Implement and sustain 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Drive productivity, quality, and cost-improvement initiatives.
