Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the end-to-end genset manufacturing operations. You will develop production plans, optimize manpower, machinery and materials, and monitor performance to meet delivery schedules.

The role emphasizes quality control, safety, lean improvement and cost management, with accountability for team leadership, CAPA, and efficient inventory and reporting to management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans to meet targets and delivery schedules.
• Oversee end-to-end genset manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch.
• Ensure products meet quality standards; coordinate QA/QC inspections and CAPA.
• Lead, mentor, and manage shop-floor staff and supervisors.
• Monitor production costs and drive lean improvements.
• Coordinate maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Ensure safety compliance and conduct safety audits.
• Coordinate with procurement for material availability and inventory control.
• Prepare and present production reports and KPI analyses to management.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

Develop and implement production plans to meet business targets and customer delivery schedules. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials. Monitor daily production performance and resolve bottlenecks.

2. Manufacturing Operations

Oversee end-to-end genset manufacturing processes including fabrication, assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch. Ensure adherence to SOPs and standard manufacturing practices. Drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency.

3. Quality Control & Assurance

Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and compliance. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and manage production teams, supervisors, and shop-floor staff. Build a high-performance culture through training and performance management. Ensure proper workforce planning and discipline.

5. Cost Management

Monitor and control production costs, wastage, and rework. Improve cost efficiency through process optimization and lean practices.

6. Maintenance & Equipment Management

Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machine uptime and preventive maintenance. Minimize breakdowns and production downtime.

7. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and statutory regulations. Promote a safe working environment and conduct regular safety audits.

8. Inventory & Supply Coordination

Coordinate with procurement and stores for availability of raw materials and components. Optimize inventory levels and reduce shortages/excess stock.

9. Reporting & MIS

Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to management. Analyze data to drive decision-making and improvements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Production output vs. plan, On-time delivery (OTD), Rejection and rework rates, Machine utilization and downtime, Cost per unit, Safety compliance and incident rates
