This is a hands-on senior practitioner role, not a people manager who sits above the work. The Team Leader is accountable for the performance of the Abuse Desk as a whole, develops and manages a small team, and stays close enough to the platform to build things personally.
They set daily priorities across the escalation and postmaster queues, set the standards for how cases are worked and documented, own the abuse tooling roadmap, and specify the work that goes to Atmail's engineering teams. They analyse traffic and complaint data across four platforms to spot abuse trends before they become incidents, and report those trends to the business in terms a non-specialist can act on.
Externally, they are an active participant in the anti-abuse industry, including M3AAWG working groups, and build working relationships with the postmaster teams at the major mailbox providers and with blocklist operators.
