Job summary

Cognet HRO in Chennai is seeking an experienced Team Lead – US Finance & Accounting (F&A) to manage a 12-member processing team, handling US client accounting end-to-end from GL to month-end close.

The role requires deep knowledge of US accounting standards, strong client communication, and night-shift availability in a work-from-office setup (no hybrid/remote).

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in US Accounting / US F&A.
• Strong process knowledge in US Accounting and good team handling skills.
• Worked for US clients and open to work in night shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end US accounting activities, including:
• General Ledger (GL) accounting
• Profit & Loss (P&L) review and analysis
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities
• Work closely with US clients to resolve accounting queries and discrepancies
• Maintain compliance with US accounting standards and company policies
• Prepare financial reports and support audits when required
• Identify process improvements and support team mentoring when needed

Job Title: Team Lead – US F&A

Location: Work from Office (No Hybrid / WFH / Remote)

Shift: Night Shift – 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM

Working Days: Monday to Friday (5 days a week)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead– US Finance & Accounting (F&A) with strong exposure to US accounting processes . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling US clients and managed a team of 12 processors.

Key Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end US accounting activities , including:

General Ledger (GL) accounting

Profit & Loss (P&L) review and analysis

Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities

Work closely with US clients to resolve accounting queries and discrepancies

Maintain compliance with US accounting standards and company policies

Prepare financial reports and support audits when required

Identify process improvements and support team mentoring when needed

Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

6–9 years of experience in US Accounting / US F&A

Strong process knowledge in US Accouting and good team handling skills. Managed a team of 10-12 processors

Worked for US clients and open to work in night shift

Strong knowledge of:

P&L statements

Prior experience working directly with US clients is highly desirable

Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to work independently during night shift
