Job summary

Burckhardt Compression in Pune, MH invites an experienced Team Lead for Sizing (Thermal and Lifting Analysis). You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate with Headquarter, ensure on-time delivery of studies, and drive continuous improvement in thermal analysis, piston and valve sizing, and process integration.

The role requires BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8–10+ years’ experience and at least 3+ years in leading engineers, preferably in compressor or rotary equipment for

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8–10+ years of experience.
• Experience leading a team of engineers for 3+ years.
• Experience in compressor or rotary equipment with oil & gas applications.
• Overseas experience and leading multi-functional teams is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of API 618, ASME B31.3; German language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Release cost books for studies and ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure accuracy of study outputs and meet KPIs.
• Provide monthly MIS reports and analyze performance metrics.
• Coordinate workload planning and invoicing with Headquarter.
• Capacitate planning of the team based on forecasts and ensure cost recovery.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Release of cost book for studies.
• Ensure OTD & accuracy of studies output of team achieved as per target.
• Provide monthly MIS reports, analyse KPIs & review action points for continuous improvement.
• Alignment with Headquarter for workload planning, invoicing and performance analysis.
• Capacity planning of team based on sales forecasts & ensure full recovery of dept cost.
• Setting performance & development goals, monitoring, control & yearly assessment of team.
• Collaboration with Headquarter for development & sustenance of Studies knowhow and regular review of projects.
• Provide feedback to Headquarter to improve performance of software tools.
• Imbibe culture of demonstrating high standards of BC values & Behaviours.
• Collaboration with internal & global stakeholders for smooth business process flow & continuous improvements.
• Present and share learnings within team regularly to enhance the competency of team; Update & share lessons learnt in Teams channel.
• Develop & enhance studies competency in team for superior performance.
• Ensure knowhow development & sustenance within team.
• Ensure implementation of new developments (calculate risk) / innovative ideas.
• Contribute to various improvement projects launched at company level.
• Recruitment & Training of new resources; ensure smooth onboarding of new employee, build competence of team members & do continual improvement for superior performance

• Ensure global BPMS process followed in studies.
• Develop awareness of team towards OSHAS & QMS standard requirement.

Pre-order Support:

• Support to Sales for enquiries for queries related to Static (thermal, Wind, Seismic) & skid analysis.
• Support to SERV for critical revamp & field issues including site visits, if necessary

Post-order support:

• Detail review of the customer specification, identify the deviations (if any) & the scope of deliverables, Co-ordinate with Project Manager/stakeholders to conclude open issues.
• Perform thermal & skid analysis and provide optimized solution to internal or external customer.
• Ensure on time delivery of studies as per project schedule • Co-ordinate with vendor for outsourced thermal studies, review of vendor document/reports, vendor assessment.
• Coordination with other functions (Ex. CAD, CO, project management etc.) during execution of the project.
• Contribute to CFCI & other improvement projects.
• Ensure that the study engineers performed analysis as per BC guidelines.
• Review/4 eye of analysis performed by study engineers & ensure high accuracy of calculation.
• Ensure documentation and records as per IMS (QMS + EMS).
• Resolve open issues with Client, in co-ordination with Project manager & other stakeholders.
• Ensure implementation of new developments (calculate risk) / innovative ideas.
• Reporting of MIS, analyse KPIs & review actions for continuous improvements.
• Co-ordinate & collaborate with Headquarter for approval, Studies workload forecasting, knowhow sharing & sustenance.
• Recruitment & build competence of team members & do continual improvement for superior performance.
• Develop and maintain the learning captured during project execution and document know-how for sustenance, develop & sustain collaboration with BCAG.
• Support Research & Development function for new product developments by allocating required resources during development work.
• Setting performance & development goals, monitoring, control & yearly assessment of team.
• Capacity planning & control under absorption.
• Ensure engagement of team to reduce the attrition.
• Pre-order support to Sales for queries related to Static (thermal, Wind, Seismic) & skid analysis.

Education, Experience and Languages:

• BE / B. Tech. with Mechanical Engineering with 8 to 10+ years of experience & good academics.
• Experience of leading team of Engineers for 3+ years.
• Experience in the field of Compressor or a Rotary Equipment with application in oil & gas industry.
• Having overseas experience & leading multi-functional teams is added advantage.
• Knowledge of International standard like API 618, ASME B31.3 etc.
• Knowledge of latest technologies and should assimilate new technology.
• Knowledge of German will be an added advantage.

• This role demands sound understanding of thermal aspects of compressor piping.
