Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. in Pune seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own compressor design activities from order receipt to bare block delivery. You will interpret parts per internal standards and manage projects including materials selection and complex drawings, while providing technical support to customers during runtime.

The role requires 3–6 years industrial experience and SAP/UG-NX proficiency, with opportunities to mentor others and contribute to R&D initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical engineering.
• 3 to 6 years of industrial experience.
• At least 5 years of BC experience.
• Experience in project management.
• Experience with ERP systems preferably SAP.
• Siemens UG-NX experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete custodian of compressor design activities from order receipt to bare block delivery.
• Calculate and interpret machine parts per Norm-calculation guidelines (AD-leaflet, PED) and internal standards.
• Drive projects: casting optimization, standards, material selection, complex drawing approvals.
• Provide technical support and advise internal/external customers; address field complaints incl. site visits.
• Collaborate with global counterparts and stakeholders.
• Document processes and knowledge; own dedicated subjects (product line, segment, process).
• Maintain rotating equipment expertise and apply to relevant segments/industries.
• Conduct training, mentor staff, and perform 4-eye reviews for critical components.

Job description

• Complete custodian of compressor design related activities from receipt of order till the bare block compressor design is delivered.
• Calculate and interpret the machine parts according to Norm-calculation guidelines (AD-leaflet, PED calculations) and internal design standard.
• Drives various projects: Castin optimization, Standards and Improvements, Selection of material, approval of complex drawing by using various internal standards.
• Technical Support and Advice: Provide technical support and advice to internal and external customers regarding various issues with compressors during their runtime. Support the resolution of field complaints, including site visits as necessary.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong collaboration with global counterparts and other stakeholders.
• Documentation and Knowledge Management: Document processes and knowledge, and take ownership of dedicated subjects (product line, segment, process, etc.).
• Expertise in Rotating Equipment: Maintain a deep understanding of rotating equipment and its applications in relevant segments and industries.
• Training and Mentorship: Conduct training sessions, act as a mentor, and perform 4-eye reviews for critical components & special calculations.
• Support for Development Projects: Provide calculation support for R&D and strategic projects.
• Process and Product Improvement: Generate and implement ideas for improving processes, products and efficiency.
