Job summary

Revvity Healthcare Chennai is seeking a Team Lead for Molecular Diagnostics. You will supervise and conduct NGS tests including WES, NIPT, and WGS, oversee DNA/RNA isolation and QC, and coordinate with bioinformatics and QA teams to ensure timely reporting.

The role requires strong MDx experience, GLP adherence, and the ability to manage sequencing platforms and a small team in a fast-paced diagnostic lab. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD with relevant MDx lab experience.
• Experience leading MDx/NGS workflows and testing.
• Capable of maintaining GLP and quality SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform WES, NIPT and WGS assays.
• Oversee DNA isolation, quantification, and quality checks.
• Coordinate with bioinformatics, reporting, and quality teams to maintain TAT.
• Manage sequencers (MGI DNBSEQ 400 and Aviti).
• Supervise sample entries and update databases.
• Assist manager in process improvements and setup of tests.
• Contribute to SOPs and publications; ensure samples are tracked to reporting.
• Maintain NABL & CAP audit documentation.

Team Lead - Molecular Diagnostics

Site : Chennai

Business Unit - Diagnostic Laboratory Operations

Purpose of the main job

• Responsible for conducting / supervising the entire Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) tests.
• Managing end-to-end NGS workflows involving end to end process.
• Development of new tests in MDx as per business requirements.

Main responsibilities

• Will supervise and perform WES, NIPT and WGS assays.
• Will supervise DNA isolation, quantification, and quality checks. In absence of the junior / senior technologists, will perform these activities.
• Will coordinate with bioinformatics, reporting, and quality teams to consistently maintain defined TAT.
• Will handle different sequencers like MGI DNBSEQ 400 and Aviti sequencing platforms.
• The person will be responsible to supervise sample entries and updating databases.
• Will assist the manager in process improvement and customizations
• Will assist the manager in establishing and setting up and running other techniques including sequencing-based tests.
• Will be involved in routine group discussions to identify new and better techniques and improve cost efficiency.
• Will manage and supervise MDx team in the absence of the manager.
• Will assist in writing reports, SOPs and papers for publications as needed.
• Keep track of all samples from registration till reporting.
• Ensure GLP and quality SOPs are always followed. Maintain NABL & CAP audit documentation.

REQUIRED COMPETENCE

Education - Post graduate/ Ph.D

Required work experience related to position

M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Genetics / Molecular Biology; other life sciences with at least 6+ years in MDx lab. Must have capability to perform different type of NGS tests and complete understanding of all the processes in the NGS lab.

Or

Ph.D. in Genetics / Molecular Biology with 2+ years experience in diagnostic laboratory and knowledge of all the processes in the NGS lab.

Experience in team management.
