Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to handle Unix and SQL tasks in a production environment, focusing on monitoring, incident handling, and batch processes for clients in the financial/risk domain.

You will contribute to ensuring high availability of critical applications, with hands-on work in Unix, SQL scripts, and related databases. Strong communication with business users and technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in application support in financial industry risk space is required.
• Hands-on knowledge of UNIX, SQL scripting and databases (Oracle/ Teradata).

Responsibilities

• 3-5 years in an application support position with client interaction and business/user engagement.
• Understand and support ITIL based incident, problem and change management processes.
• Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot using Splunk, Dynatrace or similar tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production support.

• 5-7 years’ experience with Skill set: Experience in monitoring tools ITRS, SPLUNK, Dynatrace and App Dynamics

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

1. 3-5 years in an application support position within a similar environment. Hands-on experience in supporting client applications and close interaction with the business users and application teams within financial industry, and preferably in the risk space.
2. Good Knowledge of supporting a heterogeneous environment with in-house solutions based on UNIX Shell scripts, SQL
   Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems is a must.
3. Good knowledge of Autosys to automate the batch
4. Understanding of the Service Support and Delivery disciplines. Aware of the importance for incidents, problems and change management procedures for day-to-day support activities.
5. Proven knowledge of “Best Practices” in production support, Knowledge on monitoring tools like, Splunk, Dynatrace and Knowledge on ITIL concepts like Incident and Problem Management
