Job summary

VGroup seeks an IT support professional in Chennai, India to provide high-level system support across the group. You will interact with end users, resolve issues, and travel to vessels and offices as required. You will work within the IT department, handling helpdesk tasks, projects, and SLA commitments to both internal and external customers.

The role emphasizes desktop and network basics, Active Directory, and Office 365 proficiency, with a focus on security and professional service delivery.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with end users.
• Clear written and spoken English communication.
• Solid knowledge of desktops, laptops, tablets and printers.
• Experience with Windows 10+ and basic TCP/IP networking, AD and Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Support all VGroup business systems, including in-house and off-the-shelf apps.
• Adhere to VGroup VMS and IT policy documents.
• Provide telephone and remote support as part of a global team.
• Use the service desk to update users and escalate as required.
• Attend vessels to provide IT support on‑board systems and vessels.
• Enforce IT security policies and perform helpdesk administration.

Overall Purpose of The Job

To provide a high level of Support for the systems within the Group. Communicating with end users and helping to resolve any problems they have. Work within the structure of the IT department and maintain a professional level of behaviours.

To travel to both vessels and offices when required and provide the necessary support. Work within the Support infrastructure and carry out the duties required from helpdesk support to project support.

Work within the SLA's of external and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

• Supporting all VGroup Business Systems , these include in house applications and off the shelf applications used by VGroup


• Strictly adhere to the policies and procedures put in place by the VGroup VMS and IT policy documents.


• Provide telephone and remote support as part of the global team and maintaining a professional manner when dealing with users and peers.


• Working with the service desk system to update users during the lifecycle of the request and resolve or elevate as required.


• Attending Vessels to provide IT support to the on-board systems. Provide Telephone support to Vessels.


• Supporting all aspects of hardware used within the Group.


• Enforcing the IT security policy and procedures.


• Attending remote Office Visits and providing the support required.


• Helpdesk administration as required


• Work within SLA laid down by IT management
