Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an experienced engineer to install, wire and validate embedded systems and transformer monitoring devices in Chennai. You will develop test strategies, document results, and ensure HW-SW integration while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electronics/Embedded fields and 3–7 years of hands-on experience with MODBUS, IEC61850, and SCADA. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Your Responsibilities:

• Installation, wiring and execute test strategies for embedded systems and sensor-based devices.
• Creating the sensor register mapping, simulation and live Testing of the digital devices (Transformer monitoring devices) and documentation.
• Project management and stakeholder management.
• Validate embedded firmware functionality, including hardware-software integration.
• Test and validate communication protocols such as RS485 and TCP/IP.
• Work with Panel wiring, industrial protocols like IEC61850 and TXpert system (added advantage).
• Document test cases, results, and processes to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, quality processes, and safety guidelines.
• Write good quality documentation for data processing for different projects to ensure reproducibility.

Your Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in digital products installation, wiring, testing, documentation, or validation.
• Strong understanding & troubleshooting of MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850, communication and firmware, and hardware interactions.
• Hands-on experience with Transformer monitoring devices, SCADA is an added advantage.
• Experience in configuring and testing embedded sensors or industrial devices.
• Understanding of industrial protocols DNP3 is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
