Job summary

Hitachi Energy Chennai is seeking an experienced engineer to install, wire and execute test strategies for embedded systems and sensor-based devices, ensuring safety and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

You will validate firmware with hardware integration, test MODBUS RTU/TCP/IP, IEC61850, and other industrial protocols, manage stakeholder expectations, document results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on transformer monitoring projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Embedded Systems.
• 3–7 years of experience in digital products installation, wiring, testing, documentation or validation.
• Strong understanding and troubleshooting of MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850, and hardware interactions.
• Hands-on experience with transformer monitoring devices; SCADA is a plus.
• Experience configuring and testing embedded sensors or industrial devices.
• Understanding of industrial protocols such as DNP3 is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills in English.

Your Background:
