Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an engineer to install, wire and test embedded systems and sensor devices, including transformer monitoring equipment. You will map sensor registers, simulate and validate live testing, and manage projects with stakeholders.

You will validate firmware with emphasis on hardware–software interactions and verify communication protocols (MODBUS, RS485, TCP/IP). Prior experience with transformers and industrial protocols is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in digital products installation, wiring, testing, documentation, or validation.
• Strong understanding and troubleshooting of MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850, and related hardware–software interactions.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities

• Creating the sensor register mapping, simulation and live Testing of the digital devices (Transformer monitoring devices) and documentation.
• Project management and stakeholder management.
• Validate embedded firmware functionality, including hardware-software integration.

• Work with Panel wiring, industrial protocols like IEC61850 and TXpert system (added advantage).
• Document test cases, results, and processes to ensure traceability and reproducibility.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 3-7 years of experience in digital products installation, wiring, testing, documentation, or validation.
• Strong understanding & troubleshooting of MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, IEC61850, communication and firmware, and hardware interactions.
• Hands-on experience with Transformer monitoring devices, SCADA is an added advantage.
• Experience in configuring and testing embedded sensors or industrial devices.
• Understanding of industrial protocols DNP3 is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills in spoken and written English.
