Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. in Gurugram is seeking an experienced engineer to design and develop suspension parts such as frame, axle, and shock absorbers. The role requires 4–6 years of hands-on design, CAE, and 3D modeling in a fast-paced automotive environment.

You will perform design calculations, FE/CAE, BOM handling, cost and weight estimates, and collaborate with CAE teams and suppliers to deliver robust suspension solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with suspension motion simulation, design calculations, preparation of 3D models, designer CAE and 2D drawings in any software (preferably UG).
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal forming/joining/welding processes and rubber technology including dies, tools, molds and fixtures/testing.
• Estimate cost and weight at part and sub-system levels; BOM handling.
• Conduct design reviews and solve problems through QC tools.
• Collaborate with business partners for parts development.

Responsibilities

• Layout, design & development of suspension parts (Frame, Arm, Torsion Beam, bushings, Shock Absorbers, Coil Springs, Stabilizer Bar).
• Experience should include suspension motion simulation, design calculations, 3D model, CAE & 2D drawings.
• Research and development of suspension frame, arm, torsion beam/banjo-type RR axle, shock absorbers, springs, bushings.
• Conceptualize parts, create working models, check manufacturability, and coordinate with CAE team for countermeasures and testing.
• Cost and weight estimation at part and sub-system level; BOM handling.
• Conduct design reviews and resolve issues using QC tools.
• Collaborate with business partners for parts development.
• Work on advanced engg. projects (lightweight/alternate materials).
• Good knowledge of vehicle dynamics, sheet metal & rubber technology, functioning and design of chassis parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Layout, Design & Development of Suspension parts (Frame, Arm, Torsion Beam, bushings, Shock Absorbers, Coil Springs, Stabilizer Bar ) (Experience can be in few of the areas out of the areas mentioned above & need may not be in all areas).


• Experience should include Suspension Motion Simulation, Design Calculations, Preparation of 3D Model, designer CAE & 2D Drawings in any of the software (preferably Unigraphics but not limited to UG only). Also, basic knowledge of Sheet Metal Forming/Joining/Welding process & Rubber Technology including Dies, Tools, Molds & fixtures/testing.


• Research, Design & Development of Suspension Frame, Arm, Torsion Beam/Banjo-type Rr axle, Shock Absorbers, Coil Springs, Sus bushings.


• Conceptualize parts, create working model, check feasibility concerning manufacturability, and assembly. Engage with the CAE team to take countermeasures, confirm testing performance.


• Estimate cost and weight at the part and sub-system levels & BOM handling.


• Conduct design reviews and solve problems through QC Tools


• Collaboration with business partners for parts development.


• Work on advanced engg. projects (light weight/alternate materials etc.)

Functional

• Good knowledge of vehicle dynamics, Sheet Metal & Rubber Technology, functioning and design of Chassis parts and subsystems.


• Ability to perform designer CAE and analytical skill in problem solving and providing solutions. Experience of DFMEA, MATLAB.
