Job summary

Airbus India seeks a System Engineer- (Maintenance Systems) to contribute to maintenance systems for aircraft. You will work on MBSE architecture, requirements management and V&V in an agile, cross‑functional team across borders.

Candidates should have 4–5 years in aerospace with knowledge of central maintenance systems, linked with MBSE tools like Cameo, and scripting in Python/Java. The role emphasizes R&T and data analytics for maintenance data.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech in aerospace/electrical/electronics or related engineering.
• 4–5 years experience in aerospace or related industry.
• Experience with aircraft systems (central maintenance, flight warning) is preferred.
• Experience with SysML data structures and MBSE methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Understand technological needs of R&T projects and its ecosystem (customers, suppliers, partners).
• Develop prototypes or concrete solutions addressing identified needs.
• Develop MBSE architecture solutions for systems.
• Collaborate with transnational agile teams and study other aircraft systems.
• Validate, test, deploy and document learnings from solutions.

Job Title

System Engineer- (Maintenance Systems)

Team Description

The Maintenance Team at Airbus India primarily works on topics like maintenance systems of tomorrow for the aircraft, designing the BITE specifications for the systems, providing the customization mods needed for the aircraft, and solutions to improve the maturity of systems. Key competencies include System Engineering topics like Requirements engineering, configuration management, V&V, etc. along with exposure to wireless protocols, aerospace standards & basics of MBSE. The team works with legacy aircrafts (Commercial) and is also engaged on Airbus Skywise (the singular access point to data analytics) utilizing Big Data, Java & Python skills to create dashboards & applications to analyze Maintenance data. We are a team strongly invested in R&T initiatives that are dedicated to supporting future aircraft health needs. This team is part of Advanced Engineering & System Studies, a department that works on providing simulations means for most aircraft systems and industrial needs through the application of systems engineering, MBSE, certification abilities etc

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and driven to work in an R&T environment being responsible for:

• Understanding the technological needs of the R&T projects and its extended ecosystem (customers, suppliers, strategic partners etc.)
• Quickly learning and creating prototypes/concrete solutions that solve the needs and problems identified.
• Being able to develop architecture solutions for systems (preferably MBSE architecture)
• Working with a transnational team in agile process and striving to understand other aircraft systems and learn its impact studies
• Being flexible to be challenged on one's ideas and to still drive innovative solutions
• Networking with other system designers/experts to understand and improve the solution at hand.
• Validating, testing and deploying the innovative solutions developed and documenting the learning in the process
• Providing project updates on a consistent basis to the various stakeholders involved in the R&T plateau

Required experience & Skills

• B.E/Btech/M.tech/M.E in Aerospace/Electrical or Electronics or related engineering
• A minimum of 4-5 years experience in the Aerospace or related industry
• Good understanding and experience in any aircraft systems preferably - Central Maintenance Systems, Flight Warning Systems etc
• Good understanding of overall aircraft operations end to end
• Exposure to CAMEO modeling capable of generating different viewpoints and diagrams.
• Understanding of MOFLT framework preferred

• Clear understanding of Data structures for SysML
• Knowledge on Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF)
• Working knowledge on deployment of Different strategies of MBSE in enterprise
• Requirements management & exposure to V&V techniques
• Good understanding of communication protocols and data exchange between systems
• Understanding customer requirements and deriving/framing requirements and its management
• Working knowledge and deployment in Model based systems engineering (MBSE) for developing systems
• Proficiency of System Engineering concepts (preferred INCOSE certification)
• Experienced with working in AGILE SAFe methodology/SCRUM
• Experienced with at least one of the simulation modeling & related tools (Matlab, Simulink, AMESI, Dymola etc.) and/or at least one of the scripting languages (Python, Java, Javascript, GoJS etc) - Business Proficiency in English

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in quickly grasping the technical details of different aircraft systems and associating the technology to solve relevant problem statements.
• Entrepreneurial mindset as the candidate is expected to work on innovative topics in R&T environment. Interest in programming so as to develop the demonstrator for the solution developed. - Good communicator as the candidate will be the point of contact for the project for Airbus India - Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems creatively
• Interest in Data Science and analysis so as to be an effective team player
• Additional languages (French, German, Regional) could be an added advantage
