SAEL Industries Limited in India seeks an experienced Manager Switchyard Engineering to lead the design, engineering, and execution of high voltage switchyard projects (220kV and 400kV). You will drive technical excellence in substation design, manage projects, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver engineering packages on time and in budget.

Responsibilities include creating and reviewing SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, and equipment evaluation, while ensuring compliance with IS/IEC standards

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
• Experience in 220kV/400kV AIS/GIS switchyards preferred.
• Strong coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and clients.

Responsabilités

• Lead the complete engineering cycle of AIS/GIS switchyards from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and review SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, and detailed engineering documentation for 220kV & 400kV substations.
• Evaluate and select equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, surge arresters.
• Review and approve design deliverables from consultants/vendors including BOM, electrical schematics, and protection philosophies.
• Interface with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
• Coordinate with civil, protection, SCADA, and telecom teams for integration of engineering activities.
• Ensure adherence to IS/IEC standards, grid codes, and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Travel: Occasional travel to project sites, vendor locations.

Job Summary:

The Manager Switchyard Engineering will lead the design, engineering, and execution of high voltage switchyard projects (220kV and 400kV). The role demands technical expertise in substation design, project management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering packages in accordance with national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the complete engineering cycle of AIS/GIS switchyards from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and review single line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, and detailed engineering documentation for 220kV & 400kV substations.
• Evaluate and select equipment such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, surge arresters, etc.
• Review and approve design deliverables from consultants/vendors including BOM, electrical schematics, and control & protection philosophies.
• Interface with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
• Coordinate with civil, protection, SCADA, and telecom teams for integration of engineering activities.
