Job summary

Amara Raja Group in Hyderabad is seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the primary engineering for EHV projects, focusing on 400 kV substations and 765 kV lines. You will drive design quality, ensure technical compliance, and coordinate across engineering and project teams.

You will review specifications, guide design reviews, manage deliverables, and support EPC lifecycle from design through commissioning, interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead primary engineering and design for 400 kV AIS/GIS substations, including SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, sections, and specs.
• Review technical specifications and datasheets for power transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CTs/PTs, surge arresters, busbars, and other EHV equipment.
• Lead engineering activities for 765 kV transmission lines, including route profiles, tower spotting, sag-tension calculations, conductor selection, and electrical clearances.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards, client specifications, and utility requirements.
• Coordinate with secondary engineering, protection and control, civil, structural, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submissions, and engineering calculations; resolve technical queries and design discrepancies.
• Lead engineering teams, manage deliverable schedules, conduct design reviews, and coordinate technical discussions with clients, consultants, and vendors.
• Provide engineering support throughout the EPC project lifecycle, covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Lead primary engineering activities for EHV power transmission projects, focusing on 400 kV substations and 765 kV transmission lines. Ensure technical compliance, quality engineering deliverables, timely execution, and effective coordination across engineering and project teams.

• Lead primary engineering and design for 400 kV AIS/GIS substations, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layouts, sections, and technical specifications.
• Review technical specifications and datasheets for power transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs/CVTs, surge arresters, busbars, and other EHV equipment.
• Lead engineering activities for 765 kV transmission lines, including route profiles, tower spotting, sag-tension calculations, conductor selection, and electrical clearances.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC/IS standards, client specifications, and utility requirements.
