Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) is seeking a QA/QC (Mechanical) professional to oversee quality assurance, inspection and NDT activities on power/energy projects. You will evaluate vendor QAPs, approve ITPs, and verify welding, calibration, and NDE results to ensure conformance with project requirements.

The role requires experience with WPS/PQR, ASME/IS/ASTM, and ISO 9001:2015 standards, with on-site and project-site deployments across corporate offices and vendor locations.

Qualifications

• Candidates with power/energy project QA/QC exposure preferred.
• Experience in inspecting mechanical works including equipment, piping, valves.
• Familiarity with WPS/PQR, ITPs and vendor QAPs is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during project execution.
• Review and approve Vendor QAPs/ITPs and manufacturing/testing procedures.
• Perform vendor assessments and obtain customer approvals.
• Inspect procured materials and equipment as per approved procedures.
• Witness inspections and testing per vendor ITPs.
• Ensure welding complies with WPS/PQR and welders are approved.
• Verify calibration status of measuring devices.
• Review radiographs and NDE reports.
• Issue NCRs and coordinate RCA & CAPA.
• Maintain equipment affecting product quality.
• Escalate issues impacting quality and report progress monthly.
• Review supplier quality documents per standards.

Job Description

Shall have worked at power/energy projects in the area of Quality Assurance / Control / QA/QC/ Inspection/Testing of mechanical works, including equipment, structural fabrications, piping, valves, static & rotary equipment's (Boiler Feed Pump, Condensate Extraction Pump, ACC, Heat Exchanger, etc.

Work profile is as below:

• Implement Contract Quality Assurance activities during the execution of Project.
• Review and approval of Vendor QAP's / ITP's, manufacturing & testing procedures.
• Perform new vendor assessment and obtain approval from Customers.
• Inspect procured materials and equipment as per approved procedures and QAPs.
• Witness inspections and testing as identified in the vendor's inspection and test plans.
• Ensure that the welding works are carried out as per the approved WPS/PQR and welders are approved.
• Verify the calibration status of monitoring and measuring devices.
• Review radiographs and NDE reports.
• Review NDE summary sheets in line with weld maps.
• Issue NCRs to vendors for work not performed in line with project requirements. Preparation or review of RCA & CAPA.
• Ensuring equipment and machinery affecting product quality are maintained.
• Escalating any issues that may affect product quality.
• Reporting the progress/testing on a monthly basis.
• Review supplier quality documentation as per standards and specifications.
• Issue Inspection Release Reports/Note
• Inspection co-ordination with customer, vendors, TPIA & other stakeholders
• Shall be minimum NDT Level II in MT, PT, RT, UT
• Shall have knowledge on ASME Sec I, II, V, VIII & IX, ASTM,API, AWS, IS, IBR.
• ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
• Working location: Corporate Office / Project Sites / Vendor Locations / as applicable.
