Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy seeks an OHS safety officer to deliver training and inductions for contractor personnel. The role involves site inspections, monitoring of safety practices, and ensuring permit compliance across MEP and distribution sites.

You will lead toolbox talks, assist with safety recordkeeping for extinguishers, first aid, and joint inspections with authorities. Strong ADIS or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• ITI/NCTVT certificate or diploma engineer eligible for safety roles.
• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent safety diploma.

Responsibilities

• Impart OHS training and induction of contractor workmen and supervisors.
• Monitor Toolbox Talks at site and ensure safety compliance.
• Monitor and ensure work permit system at site for MEP/SIA operations.
• Conduct daily site rounds to observe unsafe acts/conditions.
• Ensure timely compliance for unsafe conditions observed on site.
• Joint inspection of First Aid Box and maintain records.
• Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and maintain records.
• Quarterly inspection of fire extinguishers with authorities; inspect lifting tools with agencies.
• Participate in company-wide OHS initiatives and safety committee meetings.

• Impart OHS training and Induction of all contractor workmen and supervisors.
• Monitor and involvement of Toolbox Talks at site.
• Monitor and Ensure work permit system at site before starting the work for MEP Sites and SIA Monitoring at PIRE distribution sites.
• Daily site rounds at work locations and monitor vigorously unsafe acts and unsafe conditions at site.
• Ensure timely compliance of unsafe conditions & unsafe acts observed at site.
• Joint inspection of First Aid Box with Store in-charge and maintain record.
• Monthly inspection of Fire extinguishers and maintain record.
• Quarterly joint inspection of Fire extinguishers with Authorized inspection agency representative. Joint inspection of Lifting tools & tackles with representative of concern agency and maintain record.
• Participate actively in Company-wide OHS initiatives, monthly Safety committee meeting and all training arranged at site.

Requisite Qualification

• ITI with NCTVT Certificate/ Any Graduate/ Diploma Engineer &
• Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) from State Board of Technical Education (CLI/ RLI/ DISH Approved) or Any recognized Safety Diploma
