Job summary

WPP is seeking a qualified finance professional to join our global accounting and reporting team in Mumbai. You will manage monthly P&L and balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and governance. Responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of accounting, SOX compliance, team leadership, and coordinating with Opco, regional and onshore stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in Financial reporting / GL accounting / RTR post qualification.
• Qualified CA / Semi-qualified CA / CMA
• Self-motivated with a client service mindset
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work across multiple entities and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Review monthly and quarterly P&L and Balance sheet with supporting schedules and reports aligned to GAAP.
• Analyze variances in P&L and Balance sheet vs budgets/forecasts.
• Manage GL and reporting queries from Opco, region, or onshore teams.
• Ensure SOX compliance across processes.
• End-to-end accounting ownership with compliance & group reporting, plus stakeholder management.
• Lead and review the team's progress weekly/daily and escalate issues with the vertical head.
• Knowledge of IFRS & Ind AS and ability to review accounting entries.
• Ensure the team meets defined timelines and priorities.
• Contribute initiatives at the organizational level.

• Review of monthly and quarterly P&L, Balance sheet along with all supporting schedules and other reports required by management, aligned to the generally accepted accounting practices.
• Analysis of the monthly and quarterly P&L and Balance sheet items, identifying and explaining the variances from budgets, forecasts or identify the lack of variances
• Managing all GL and reporting related queries from Opco, region, or onshore teams.
• SOX Compliance
• This role involves handling multiple entities with end-to-end ownership of accounting, compliance & stakeholder management along with Group reporting
• Team Management: Weekly/Daily review with the team on the progress, issues & achievement and to share the report with Management. Escalation on team issues should be resolve in consultation with vertical head
• Knowledge of IFRS & Ind AS required and ability to review accounting entries
• Manage the team to meet the defined timelines, and adequate time management
• Any other initiative on organization level

What you'll need:

• 3 – 8 years of experience in Financial reporting / GL accounting / RTR post qualification
• Qualification – Qualified CA / Semi-qualified CA / CMA
• Self-motivated
• Commercially focused with a strong Client service approach
• Confidence in dealing and building relationships both internally and externally
• Well organised with strength in prioritizing
• Flexible attitude to achieve results.
