Job summary

WPP is establishing an offshore Group Reporting team in Mumbai to support its London-based team. We seek a Senior Accountant to contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closes across entities and currencies.

You will work with international colleagues, ensure IFRS compliance, and help optimize reporting processes in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work with overlapping UK/US hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years of accounting experience, Big Four experience preferred.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, especially intercompany transactions and consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Support IFRS accounting processes to ensure accurate reporting.
• Assist in consolidation of financial results across entities and currencies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate processes.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and SOX requirements.

Our London-based Group Reporting team is responsible for consolidating financial results across all entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial statements. To support our continued transformation and enhance efficiency, we are establishing a dedicated offshore group reporting team in Mumbai, as an extension of our London team.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our newly formed Group Reporting team in Financeplus India. You will work closely with our London-based Group Reporting team and play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to build strong relationships with international colleagues and contribute to a global finance function.

What you will be doing:

• Technical accounting and IFRS compliance: Support technical accounting processes (e.g., lease accounting, share-based payments, financial instruments, associates) to ensure accurate and compliant reporting under IFRS.
• Group consolidation: Support the consolidation of financial results across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions to produce accurate group-level reporting.
• Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance reporting processes including automation to help improve efficiency and control.
• Policy and controls: Ensure adherence to WPP accounting policies and Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements, supporting a strong control environment and the integrity of financial reporting.
• Group Finance Support: Take on additional responsibilities and provide cross-functional support to help deliver the wider objectives of the Group Reporting function, including operational and administrative tasks as required.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6+ years of accounting experience, with Big Four (client-facing) experience within this experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles, particularly as they relate to intercompany transactions and consolidation.
• Hands‑on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics 365) is preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely to a global audience.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, self‑starter with a strong work ethic and a collaborative team‑player attitude.
• Working in shifts that overlap with UK business hours (and US business hours where/if required). Flexibility to adhere to these hours is required.
