BorgWarner is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to oversee our automotive production processes in Chennai. You will manage and train staff, develop schedules, and ensure quality and on-time output while maintaining safety and lean practices.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in production leadership in automotive/manufacturing, with experience in assembly, casting, testing, and end-of-line processes; familiarity with SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in production management in the automotive industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Electronics/Mechatronics.
• Proven leadership, communication, and risk management.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of SAP (desirable).

Responsabilités

• Oversee all production processes including assembly, injection moulding and end-of-line testing.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet demand while optimizing resources.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to maintain quality and meet customer requirements.
• Train and manage production staff; ensure safety and 100% PPE adherence.
• Maintain inventory levels and liaise with maintenance, quality, and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and safety standards.
• Report to senior management on OEE, scrap, and output efficiency.
• Drive cost reduction and Kaizen initiatives; maintain 5S and visual factory.

Job Description:

A highly skilled Production Manager to oversee our production processes in the automobile industry. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all production operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining quality standards. They will also be responsible for managing and training production staff, as well as developing and executing production schedules to meet customer demand on time.

R & R

• Oversee all aspects of the production process, including assembly, Injection moulding and End of Line testing.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand while maintaining efficient use of resources
• Monitor production processes and adjust production schedules as needed to maintain quality standards and meet customer requirements
• Manage and train production employees, ensuring that all the members are trained to perform their duties efficiently as per expected skill level safely.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that materials and supplies are available when needed
• Develop and implement safety procedures and guidelines to ensure that all production processes are performed safely with 100% PPE adherence.
• Ensure safety audits completion on time and vigilant to safety at workplace for safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance, Manufacturing engineering, Quality, Engineering and logistics, to improve production processes and meet customer requirements
• Ensure that all production processes comply with industry standards and regulations
• Provide regular reports to senior management on production progress, OEE, Manufacturing scrap and output efficiency
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, 8D methodology, 7QC tools etc
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to support for productivity cost savings from shop floor.
• Maintain high level of 5S in shop floor and improve visual factory floor
• Motivate employees to participate in KAIZEN and Suggestion process.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 quality management system standards
• Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum of 10 - 15 years of experience in a production management role in the automobile industry

Automotive/ Manufacturing in OEM

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Electronics/Mechatronics related field.

• Strong knowledge of production processes, including assembly, Injection moulding, Servo pressing, Coil winding, PU Potting, Heat treatment and Electrical testing etc.,
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental regulations.

Desirable

• Knowledge of SAP
